Born this Way

Lady Gaga's third album Born this Way was released on May 23rd 2011. Most tracks were written during the Monster ball tour 2010. The first single released was the album's title track Born this way. It was released on feb 11th, and was highly praised by the critics and fans.

The Born this Way album is a step away from her previous album The Fame and The Fame Monster, were she used a much darker sound aswell as approach. Together with a handfull of star producers such as Paul Blair, Fernando Garibay and Jeppe Laursen. Lady Gaga has no doubt changed course, at least for now. Then again you can hear the "good-old-gaga" sound in a few tracks. Try Born this way and Judas, the first hits released from the album. RedOne, the producer behind both The Fame and The Fame Monster still gives the album a certain impact with his characteristic sound.

A few months before the album was released, Lady Gaga's manager Troy Carter said in a billboard interview:

"We're just starting to play music for the label. We're very excited about it. We're starting to play a little for people and getting a feel for it, and she's done an incredible job, a really incredible job"
"Well, you know what, it's not where I go from a business standpoint, it's more about where she goes creatively because, truth be told, we built the business around her creative infrastructure and that business that was built is unique to Lady Gaga. We haven't announced a date … nope … it's coming soon."

Maybe it's my OCD, but I really don't like the physical CD, simply because there are loads of mistakes... Firstly the lyric format makes it very difficult to understand what is repeated. And there are many errors, to name a few: In 'Heavy Metal Lover', the lyrics say 'shout', even though she clearly says 'filthy pout'. In 'Marry The Night' the word 'lose' is spelled 'loose'. The lyrics for Hair are very unclear and there are too many repeats in the section about her hair being all the glory that she bares. There are also inconsistencies when the album is uploaded onto iTunes as the composers vary in spelling, even when referring to the same person. In Bad Kids there is an extra bridge (which isn't a mistake as she will sing this version live), but the word 'bitch' is bleeped in the song, but not in the lyrics. On the back cover, the box surrounding 'Disc No.002' is too long for the writing, and the disc number is referred to differently throughout the booklet, with a space after the 'No.' on some occasions, and not on others. There are many others, but you would think that an international artist would have a team to check these errors, as they seem very obvious, Well, they must be if a 15 year old boy could spot them on his first read of the booklet. I should be hired to ensure this doesn't happen. :L They should fix the booklet and then rerelease it...
