The Fame Monster

Background

Lady Gaga’s second album “The Fame Monster” was released on November 18, 2009. It was originally intended to be released as part of a re-release of “The Fame”, but plans changed and it was released as an album standing on its own. In an interview, Lady Gaga states that "I think re-releases are unfair, [...] It’s artists sneaking singles onto an already finished piece of work in an effort to keep the album afloat. Originally [my label] only wanted me to put out three songs and now it’s much more than that. It’s a new album’s worth of material."

The eight songs on “The Fame Monster” dealt with Lady Gaga’s experiences of “the darker sides of fame” during the turbulent years 2008-2009. The addition “Monster” is to be seen as a metaphor through which to regard Lady Gaga’s sudden rise to worldwide fame.

Describing the work behind the second album, Lady Gaga says "On my re-release The Fame Monster, I wrote about everything I didn't write on The Fame. While traveling the world for two years, I've encountered several monsters, each represented by a different song on the new record: my 'Fear of Sex Monster,' my 'Fear of Alcohol Monster,' my 'Fear of Love Monster,' my 'Fear of Death Monster,' my 'Fear of Loneliness Monster,' etc."

"I spent a lot of nights in Eastern Europe, and this album is a pop experimentation with industrial/Goth beats, 90's dance melodies, an obsession with the lyrical genius of 80's melancholic pop, and the runway. I wrote while watching muted fashion shows and I am compelled to say my music was scored for them."

Well, the passion, its a deep down feeling that all of us songwriters have. It's really a great feeling, Lady Gaga is truely one of a kind and she had that passion since she was a baby, which is remarkable!! Thats why I took ir upon myself to write the first song ever written about Lady Gaga and her life. The new song about Lady Gaga can be found here. "Pop Star Girl" http://www.youtube.com/user/TheAace1
